PRESS: Minister: Russia’s aviation industry needs no state aid yet
MOSCOW, Feb 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s aviation industry does not need state support due to the pandemic yet, Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said in an interview with Izvestiya newspaper, released on Friday.
“We do not yet need support due to the pandemic, like we had in 2020, but the state takes care of its citizens, and the aviation industry received subsidies on a regular basis,” he said.
“Generally, the number of subsidized flights, mainly, from the Far Ear, not from Moscow has increased significantly. If we compare the figures of 2020 and 2019 with subsidies of 15.5 billion rubles, in 2021, 21.240 billion was disbursed for the purpose. And in 2022, the subsidies will grow to 27.5 billion rubles,” he added.
